French Trip to Quebec, Canada

Recently, I went on a School trip to Quebec with my French class, and kids from the other high school. Quebec is situated in the French-speaking part of Canada, but English is taught at most schools. While on our trip, we stayed with host families, who spoke French and only a little English. This trip was an amazing experience, and each day was packed with different, fun activities.

On our first day in Quebec, we went dog sledding!! This was my favorite activity out of all of them.

After dog sledding, we got to take a walk through the snow while wearing these snow shoes. They weren't very comfortable :/

There were also really cute puppies at the dog sledding place!

This was one of my favorite dogs because of its pretty fur.

Since dog sledding was so tiring, we got to eat a true Canadian meal at a Sugar Shack. The crepes with maple syrup were my favorite!

Next, we went to see the Chute Montmorency waterfall. It's bigger than the Niagara Falls! Also, the view was really pretty, and I couldn't resist taking loads of pictures of not only the waterfall but also the view hahaha.

The sides of the path were completely frozen. Isn't this so cool?

And finally, here is a picture of the actual waterfall.

This was a picture I took of the inside of the Ste-Anne Beaupre Basilica. It was so pretty and detailed, and there were so many different rooms to see.

This is the outside, well a part of the outside, of the church. It was HUGE.

The next day, we went sliding, which was very nerve racking at first, but turned out to be SO fun! I was so mesmerized by how pretty the view was that I forgot to take a picture of the actual slide....oops.

After sliding, we went to the Quebec City Winter Carnival. I was a little dissapointed because all the activities you could do, you can do pretty much anywhere. But still, this one part of the carnival was so beautiful and very peaceful.

This whole statue was made out of ice!

After spending the whole morning on our feet, we went to lunch in Vieux Quebec. It was so delicious!!

After lunch, we went to the Ice Hotel. It was so cool and intricate, and I loved being able to look at all the rooms and how they were designed.

This year's theme at the Ice Hotel was rivers.

This bedroom was probably my favorite, because of the wall details.

On our last day, we walked around the downtown area which was really pretty.

This painting was drawn on the back wall of a house, but it looked 3D.

Also, on the last day we went on a ferry across the St. Lawrence River. From the ferry, you could see the whole City of Quebec which was really cool.

My friend, Amelia, took this picture of me and my other friend, Aliyah, and I thought it was really cool.

In the middle of the city, there were ice skating rinks that you could just skate on without using skates, which was sort of weird but very fun.

Overall, this trip was really fun, and I loved exploring Quebec. I would love to go back in the summer or even in the winter! Now, I'm back to waking up at 6am every morning and going to School. BUT there's only 1 month and 2 weeks left until spring break!!
